H-CAN Indivisible
Who We Are
We’re an H-CAN Action Group made up of residents of the Haverford Township, PA area who fight for democracy and progressive policies. (H-CAN is composed of multiple Action Groups, each focused on a particular area of activism.) In H-CAN Indivisible, we educate ourselves on the issues that impact our community, state, and country and advocate for local, state, and federal policies that are inclusive, equitable, just, and compassionate.
Often in collaboration with other grassroots groups, we participate in and organize actions—including protests, rallies, get-out-the-vote events, voter registration, and letter-writing campaigns—with a goal of rebuilding our democracy, resisting anti-democratic agendas, and electing progressive leaders.
National Indivisible
Brought together by a practical guide to resist the Trump agenda, Indivisible is a national movement of thousands of local groups taking actions to resist the GOP’s agenda, elect local champions, and build an inclusive democracy.
Indivisible believes that individuals acting locally, working with and putting pressure on their own elected officials, is a highly effective way to enact change on a large scale. (Check out Indivisible in Wikipedia!)
Elected officials tend to listen to those who can help them remain in office or vote them out. If you’re interested in Indivisible but don’t live near our H-CAN group, we invite you to find another Indivisible group.

Ways to Be Involved
In the few years of our group’s existence, we’ve learned the amazing power that we can have collectively when everyone contributes, even just a little bit. No degree of involvement is too small. From planning logistics for large-scale events to writing postcards at home, there are many ways to take part.
Call, text, and email elected officials
Plan and attend rallies, protests, and public events
Visit with elected officials to share thoughts about legislation
Research and write calls to action and Letters to the Editor
Share your space for meetings
Write postcards and letters to voters in support of voting and candidates
Register people to vote
Speak with people about issues and voting
Create graphics and art in support of events
Contact the media for event coverage
Work on our twice-yearly Voter’s Guide (A go-to resource for local elections!)
Our members contribute through these ways and many more. We invite you to reach out to us and take part in one of our monthly meetings. Contact us via email and follow us on:
