H-CAN and SU4LM present - How to Talk to Kids About Disability

The following event took place as a joint event with H-CAN and Stand Up 4 Lower Merion (SU4LM) on Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at St. Christopher’s Church in Gladwyne, PA.

What messages are our children receiving from us and the world about what it means to be disabled?

How should we handle our children's in-public questions and staring?

What can we do to be welcoming to our children's neuro-diverse peers?

What are our children watching on YouTube and seeing on social media about disability and how can we foster thoughtful discussions with them?

Let's end the awkwardness! This empowering workshop will give parents and caregivers respectful vocabulary and teaching strategies to facilitate positive discussions about disability with their children.
